Mid-Continent
Deep
LINN Energy's Mid-Continent Deep properties produce at depths ranging from 8,000 feet to 16,000 feet. Our Mid-Continent Deep region includes the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma Granite Wash formation and deep formations in Oklahoma and Kansas.
Granite Wash
LINN has a large acreage position in the prolific Granite Wash play, which covers a trend extending from the Texas Panhandle eastward into southwestern Oklahoma. LINN holds a large acreage position of approximately 70,000 gross acres/50,000 net acres in the Texas Panhandle area, alone, and holds 100,000 gross acres/25,000 net acres in the Oklahoma portion.
Through recent activity in the play, LINN has identified more than 100 horizontal drilling locations in just the Texas Panhandle portion of the Granite Wash and multiple vertical infill drilling locations. We believe this inventory will expand in both Texas and Oklahoma as the Company continues to drill in this trend.
Adding to the attraction of the area, wells produce large volumes of condensate and NGL significantly increasing the rate-of-return. These results have made the Granite Wash one of the most economically attractive areas in the industry.
Through recent activity in the play, LINN has identified more than 100 horizontal drilling locations as well as multiple vertical infill drilling locations. We believe this inventory will expand in both Texas and Oklahoma as the Company continues to drill in this trend.

Oklahoma and Kansas
LINN also holds a significant acreage position in central and northern portions of Oklahoma and southern Kansas, which is comprised of more than 800,000 gross acres, or 400,000 net acres. More than 85 percent of this total acreage is held by production. LINN has identified an inventory of more than 1,000 high-confidence drilling locations in this natural-gas-rich area (80 percent natural gas by reserves).
A significant portion of these locations are in the Mississippi Shelf play. This play is 260 miles long and approximately 45 miles wide, and is located in central and northern Oklahoma. Wells are typically drilled to 8,600 feet in this operating area and target the Mississippian and Pennsylvanian-aged sands. LINN holds more than 200,000 net acres in this play.
