In Our Communities
At LINN Energy, we are dedicated to working in harmony with our neighbors. We place a high priority on improving the lives of people in our communities through organizations focused on the key areas of health, education, community services and the arts. And our employees tirelessly dedicate their personal energy to these worthy causes through generous support and countless volunteer hours. In 2009, employees raised $350,000 for worthy causes in our local communities.
Community
Habitat for Humanity offers employees an opportunity to partner with people who live in our community. "You are building my dream, and I do not want to miss a minute of it." Those were the words of joy expressed by the future homeowner of LINN's first habitat build in Houston. The single mother of two worked alongside LINN employees each day.
Our employees are passionate about serving our communities. Through a combination of employee donations and the company match, LINN's 2010 United Way campaign raised more than $176,000 – more than doubling 2008 campaign contributions.

Health
Walking for heart health in 2009, the LINN Houston employee team raised more than $47,000 for the American Heart Association Houston Heart Walk and was the fifth highest fundraiser in the city. The Oklahoma City team raised $15,000 for the Oklahoma City Heart Walk.
In 2009, LINN Chief Financial Officer Kolja Rockov created and led the inaugural Texas Children's Cancer Center Casino event to raise funds to help children fight cancer. In just the second year of this annual fundraiser, the event raised more than $240,000 gross/$190,000 net in 2010.

Education
At LINN, we believe that children should have the opportunity to expand their horizons through education and the arts. The company sponsors organizations and events such as Houston Via Colori®, a street-painting festival that benefits The Center for Hearing and Speech.

As sponsor of the Houston Symphony’s The Planets — An HD Odyssey, LINN helped fuse the talent of the Houston Symphony with science through an extraordinary collaboration of music and video collected on NASA missions. The result – an amazing historical experience and musical masterpiece to be treasured by audiences of all ages.
